a good retreat
helpful staff spacious room roll top bath convenient reception
the staff were quite helpful. i noted that an iron was available from reception. the room i occupied was notably spacious. a grand roll top bath was a great touch.
i observed some dust on the bedside lampshades. this slight issue did not detract significantly from my stay.

some issues noted during stay
dirty shower plug limited toilet roll
the shower plug had a lot of gunk and hair in it, and i think it had not been cleaned in a long time. this blocked the drain. there was also a sulphate smell coming from it. we also ran out of toilet paper and had to buy some. the staff put some unblocker down to clear the shower drain, but it was still a bit off-putting.

Historic Stay Near the Cinder Track
building history short walk comfortable bed
I appreciated the building's history, clear throughout. The location allowed a short walk to the center of the area. The Cinder Track was nearby. Breakfast included tasty bacon. Our room offered new decoration and a very comfortable bed. Its en-suite bathroom had a great bath.
I did notice the road noise during the morning.
